Dementia
Resources in our libraries to support people living with dementia and those supporting them, and links to sources of support.

Reading Well for Dementia
A collection of books aimed at those with a diagnosis of dementia, their families and carers. Encompassing lived experience, practical information, novels, reminiscence picture books and even a picture book to help children understand a grandparent’s diagnosis, titles are available in many of our libraries.

Memory Packs
Memory Packs are loanable collections of books, images and other items designed to stimulate recollection and conversation.

Online Reminiscence Resources
We have a range of online resources themed around local history which we hope will aid reminiscence.
Our eMemory Packs are online mini-versions of Memory Packs themed around specific topics from our Local Studies collection including old Market Square and Transport.
We’ve made online jigsaws from a selection of images of Nottingham through the years.
You can view our photographic archive on the Picture Nottingham website – search by place, keyword, theme and more.

Home Library Service and Click and Collect
For those who find it difficult to get to the library, including people with dementia and their carers, we have a couple of options to help you keep a steady supply of reading material.
We offer a Click and Collect service whereby staff select titles of your preferred genre and have them ready for you to collect.
If getting to the library is tricky because of mobility issues or caring responsibilities, the Home Library Service can come to you, bringing a selection of titles to suit your needs.
