Free Access to Digital Resources

Most services are available from outside library premises apart from Find My Past, British Newspaper Archive and Access to Research (abstracts can be viewed but full articles can only be seen in libraries).

Access to Research gives access to a wide range of academic articles and research. You can view article abstracts from home but the full article is only available when viewing in library premises.

Subjects include art, architecture, business, engineering, history, languages, politics, philosophy, mathematics and the sciences.


Cobra is web based and stands for Complete Business Resource Advisor.

Packed with information about setting up in business, including area profiles, fact sheets and signposting to the key sources of help and support in your field. It’s also great for researching which qualifications are required for a particular career.
