Meet the Volunteers

This month Annette, who volunteers at the Dales Centre Library, tells us about her experiences over the last year.

Hello my name is Annette

I volunteer at the Dales Library in Sneinton. It has been a very challenging time for everyone, and since the pandemic, I along with other volunteers from the Dales Centre have missed the contact with all the families and wonderful hardworking staff.

However, we are so thankful that the monthly book club has continued to flourish via our Zoom meetings. Borrow Box has been a life line, and a big thank you to whoever was responsible for setting it up.

Our craft group members have kept in touch via emails /phone conversations. Unfortunately, several members do not have the devices or technological skills to use Zoom, so phone calls have helped us to connect. Needless to say, it has been a joy to see photos of knitted and crocheted items that our members have created during the most challenging of times, when many have had to face personal loss and or serious illness.

Thank you to all that our libraries have been doing during 2020 – 2021 and I hope to be back in the Dales Library as soon as we can.

Stay safe and well everyone, best wishes

Annette
