Young girl in library reading comics

“If Shakespeare and Michelangelo were alive today, and if they decided to collaborate on a comic, Shakespeare would write the script and Michelangelo would draw it. How could anybody say that this wouldn’t be as worthwhile an artform as anything on earth?”- Stan Lee

We pride ourselves with the variety in our stock, with both digital resources, audio experiences and the tried and true book. But it can be easy to forget the draw that is the artistic touch on the page, the stories that have been available to us since the 1930s.

We live in an age where comic books are a huge impact on our entertainment, comic books franchises turning into movies that break records and delight millions, and with that grand appeal, the accessibility of graphic novels has never been greater.

Nottingham City Libraries has recently been bolstering their collection of graphic novels for adult and younger readers.  We invite you all to join us in appreciating the fine writers and artists that we have come to love.

You can explore new stock in person at Hyson Green, Strelley, Wollaton or Clifton library. Alternately access our library catalogue and reserve them for order to your own local library.
