From Monday 10 to 22 June, Iranian multidisciplinary artist Elaheh Raofi showcases her piece ‘Pirouz Installation – The New Generation’ in our atrium space. Elaheh will be present at select times, performing her practice of weaving and sculpture and hosting workshops for the public to attend. Details below…


Weaving Workshops

An interactive weaving workshop, led by Elaheh Raofi.

Participants will learn ancestral hand-weaving techniques used in her current installation, paying homage to the many women who have and continue to work in the textiles industry in Iran and other Middle Eastern countries.

A clay sculpture-making workshop led by artist Elaheh Raofi.

Participants will create and make mini sculptures in response to images and text as part of her current installation.

Elaheh Raofi In Conversation with Transition + Transit Curator Dwayne Church-Simms

Wednesday 12 June 6pm to 7pm

Iranian multidisciplinary artist Elaheh Raofi joins Transition + Transit Curator Dwayne Church-Simms, to discuss her current installation PIROUZ, The Next Generation.

Raofi’s work is deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of the Middle East, particularly drawing inspiration from Persian symbols and metaphors. The installation will be on display at venues across Nottingham from May – July.
