Nottingham Central Library is pleased to welcome Dialect, Writer Development Network to the building. This network for Rural and Edgeland poets is visiting us in the city centre and opening up these two fantastic development opportunities to the writers of Nottingham City.

The Dialect Press Poetry Salon comes to Nottingham Poetry Festival on 6th June for a collection of readings, conversation and independent publishing.

Bringing together writers from Dialect Press for a celebration of the imagination and experimentation that small presses make possible. With featured readers Elvire Roberts, Rachel Goodman, JLM Morton and Charlie Sanderson, expect powerful readings, lively discussion and a welcoming space to meet others shaping today’s poetry landscape.

Are you a writer who wants to take your readings and performances to the next level? Or are you someone who hates talking in public, but needs to deliver a speech or presentation?

Charlie Sanderson is an actor whose stage credits include the West End and Broadway, and she’s voiced over 300 books on Audible. Charlie is also an experienced facilitator who empowers writers from every walk of life to perform their work with confidence.

In this one-off workshop, in partnership with Nottinghamshire Libraries, Charlie shares a range of professional tips and exercises, carefully tailored for anyone who wants to take to the stage and read to an audience. In 90 minutes, she’ll give you the tools to bring your words alive and help you to discover the joy of performing!
