Chess in libraries

Join us at our chess drop-ins hosted at Wollaton and Hyson Green libraries. These sessions provide a welcoming, open chess space for all ages and ability levels, whether you are looking to play casually, practice, or learn the basics of the game.

Chess boards are also available for use during our opening hours in many libraries, please speak to a staff member for more information or to request access at the following sites: Hyson Green, Wollaton, Sherwood, St Ann’s, The Dales.

For those new to chess, our drop-in sessions offer a supportive environment where beginners can learn, practice and build confidence at their own pace. At selected sessions, volunteers are available to offer guidance and support.
